Fresh, natural faces and cutesy Bambi lashes were all the rage at last night’s NTAs in London with Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon pioneering the stunning, pared back look!

Of course, Leesh looked to none other than celebrity make-up genius Francesca Neill (who also tends to the likes of Cheryl) and she didn’t put a foot – or a contouring brush – wrong yesterday.

That’s why we enlisted Francesca herself to break down Alesha’s look – and it’s much simpler and more affordable than you might think!

“Alesha went for a structured look in which she wore a black suit jacket and sheer black Versace trousers,” Francesca said, “so we wanted to create a look that was clean. Think contoured, glowing skin and a nude-neutral lip.”

Francesca mentioned that she primed gorgeous Ms. Dixon’s skin with the Lancome Visionnaire 1 Minute Blur (currently on sale at £30) to create an even canvas for seamless foundation application.

“I then used the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation, £31.50,” Francesca continued.

Francesca also mentioned that Alesha’s look had an almost androgynous feel so she wanted to keep the look – and her stunning peepers especially – free from fussy colours or too much shimmer.

“Her overall look was very sharp and sleek but also had an effortless feel,” said Francesca, “so I wanted the makeup to complement this. I kept it monochromatic to keep it quite understated and clean. Her hair was worn back off her face so that we could really focus of her eyes.”

But what exactly did she use on Alesha’s mesmerising eyes?

“On her eyes I used a blend of matte chocolate brown tones from M.A.C which I smudged out. I wanted to ensure it if wasn’t too perfect; to give it that undone feel.”

Francesca then dropped a bombshell on us and revealed that the rest of Alesha’s look cost her just over £7 thanks to the high-street beauty queens at COLLECTION.

“I used the COLLECTION Fast Stroke Eyeliner, £2.99 (we love the pointed nib) and the COLLECTION Divine Lash Mascara, £4.99 (which has already made it onto our beauty roundup) to add drama and to intensify the look.”

For lashes that ooze drama and volume coat your lashes once and before they dry completely, give them another swipe.

Alesha’s brows were perfected using celebrity favourite HD Brows (the fantastic Browtec in Foxy, to be precise) but then it was onto the contour – obviously!

“I used the Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Sculpt and Glow, £49 to contour the hollows of her cheeks and to highlight the tops of her cheekbones and finished the look off with a the Laura Mercier Stickgloss in Maple, £18.50,” Francesca said.

If the CT sculpting palette is a little out of your beauty budget, we’ve found a near match inthe Sunkissed Sculpt & Glow Palette, £5. We’ve already stockpiled it.
